Lainescars 2011

With the red carpet all rolled out and the VIP entrance sign up, Lainesmead Primary School was ready to celebrate its pupils achievements in style!

The awards ceremony (jokingly referred to as the "Laines-cars" in homage to the Oscars) took place at the school on Tuesday 18 October.  Headteacher of Churchfields Academy, Mr Flavin, was in attendance which made the occasion all the more special.  Forty eight students (past and present) were nominated in 12 categories, including the highest Year 6 SATs results.  Each nominee won a gold star medal and the winners of each category received an engraved crystal trophy.  Mrs Turner Lainesmeads Headteacher said "I wanted the evening to be an extra special event that celebrated the fantastic achievements of our pupils across all aspects of the school and it most definitely was!"
